It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony ‘Tony’ Creasy, 61, of Greenville, Illinois, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his residence. Known for his out-of-control curly mullet and larger-than-life personality, Tony brought joy, humor, and warmth to all who knew him. Affectionately called “Pawpaw with the Crazy Hair” he was a true character who made a lasting impression wherever he went.
Tony was born to Arlee ‘Red’ and Katherine (Yates) Creasy, on September 26, 1963, in East St. Louis, Illinois. He spent his early childhood growing up and going to school in Livingston before moving to Highland during his sophomore year. He graduated from Highland High School in 1982 and from there his journey took him through the United States Air Force, time spent as a certified nursing assistant and on to truck driving school in Granite City. Tony then began a dedicated career with TMCI Trucking of Highland. He married Tammy Johnston, December 26, 1986, raising two children together. Subsequently, they divorced. He called Millersburg,
Pocahontas, and Greenville home at various points in his life, leaving a mark in each place with his infectious laugh and charismatic personality.
Tony was a genuine people person, known for his unique sense of humor, his kindness, and his natural ability to make friends. He loved animals deeply, especially his beloved dog Allie, who was his faithful companion on countless walks around town. He took pride in his rock and Indian head collections, his passion for history and sports, and his dedication to KSHE 95 and classic rock music. A jokester to the end, he had an undeniable bounce in his step and a warmth that was felt by everyone who crossed his path.
Preceding Tony in death are his parents, Red and Katherine Creasy; son, Chad Creasy; brothers, Larry Koenig, Gary Little and Danny Creasy; niece, Chelsea Knox; nephew, Caleb Creasy.
