Lynn Holly 'Honeybee' White

Lynn Holly ‘Honeybee’ White, 64, of Donnellson, IL., passed away peacefully at home after a courageous fight with cancer, Friday, January 16, 2026. In accordance with her wishes, the family has chosen cremation, with services to be held at a later date.

Honeybee was born December 25, 1961, in Boulder, CO., to Thomas Eugene and Marcella Marie (Kullberg) Blakely. She grew up and spent much of her early life in Colorado, before moving to Donnellson, IL. in 2005. In her youth, she attended Douglas County Senior High School in Castle Rock, CO. She then attended Arapaho community college in the early 2000s and graduated with a business degree.

She married Don White on April 2nd, 1981, and together they welcomed a daughter, Marcie. Although they later divorced, they remained friends. During her illness, Don continued to help their daughter care for her, until his passing in March 2025.

Honeybee was independent and had a bit of an ornery streak. She had a great love for her family and all animals, especially her dog Peanut. She was a talented artist, particularly when it came to drawing.

She spent her working years as a secretary in various jobs within the auto industry. True to her nickname she collected honeybee items and various windchimes, which you could find all over her home. She also enjoyed reading and listening to classic rock.

Honeybee is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Marcella; stepfather, Frank Crater; siblings, Joe Coppedge and Tami Tipton; son-in-law, Earl Vollintine.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcella ‘Marcie’ Vollintine of Donnellson, Il.; granddaughters, Samanntha and Morgan Vollintine of Donnellson, Il.; siblings, Kim (Jim) Jorns of Ft. Worth, TX. And Jane (Rob) Danko of Silver Lake, KS.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Family of Lynn ‘Honeybee’ White, 118 E College Ave., Greenville, Il. 62246, or to the Montgomery County Cancer Assoc., 106 Pinnacle Point, Hillsboro, Il., 62049.

The family has entrusted Assalley Funeral Home in Greenville with the ceremonies.
