Born in: Mobile, AL
Resided in: Greenville, IL

Paige Pinkston Todd of Greenville passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Paige was born on June 8, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, to Charles and Helen (née Goldman) Pinkston. She graduated from Nashville High School, forever a Scrapper, and attended Southern Arkansas University. On June 17, 1967, she married James Joseph “Jim” Todd, Jr. in Carlisle, Arkansas. Their marriage was a love story their children and grandchildren cherished and hoped to be blessed with in their own lives. After Jim’s passing in 2017, Paige would proudly tell people they had been married for 50 years and 44 days, making sure those extra 44 days were never forgotten.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness was found in the people she loved.

She was an accomplished quilter, an avid traveler, and a devoted Cardinals fan. One of the greatest joys of her life was traveling the world with Jim. Together they explored new places, made lifelong memories, and developed a special affection for Rome, a city that held a treasured place in her heart. She loved pug dogs, especially her beloved Yadi; the music of John Denver; the artwork of P. Buckley Moss; and a good pair of pink sunglasses. She never met a shade of pink she didn’t like.

Paige treasured her friendships and especially enjoyed gathering with her Bunco  group or quilting.  Their laughter and companionship enriched her life. She also spent many hours with a group of friends sewing handmade dolls for donation to children’s hospitals, providing comfort to children during hospital stays.

Paige found joy in both grand adventures and life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling the world, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, and cruising in Roz, the white Mercedes convertible Jim gifted her, a dream car she cherished. She was known to occasionally decide that ice cream was a perfectly acceptable dinner.

In retirement, Paige enjoyed ushering for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Arkansas Naturals, and the Fox Theatre. She also volunteered at the DeMoulin Museum, a place that held special meaning for her family. Jim worked at DeMoulin for many years, and it was the opportunity that brought them to Greenville 37 years ago, establishing roots in a community they came to love. He cherished his work and the many connections it fostered, becoming a beloved part of the company’s history and legacy. Through her volunteer work at the museum, Paige honored both that legacy and the deep devotion she carried for Jim throughout her life.

Known as “Granny Paige” to dozens of young performers through Bond County Area Theater, whether altering costumes, manning the mic table, sitting front and center at performances, or simply offering encouragement, she celebrated children and their accomplishments and had a remarkable gift for making each one feel special and loved.

Above all else, Paige was devoted to her family. She delighted in celebrating every milestone, attending every event possible, and creating memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love was generous, unwavering, and ever-present. She was the kind of grandmother who showed up, cheered loudly, remembered the details, and made the people she loved feel like the most important people in the world.

She is survived by her children, Tiffany Sitton (Andy), Jim Todd (Sheila), Erin Orr (Jay), and Stan Todd (Katrina); her grandchildren, Elisabeth Ward, Brett Mueller (Kelsey), Claire Schweppe (Mason), Drew Todd (Ansley), Alena Todd, Will Todd, Grace Orr, Ian Orr, Charlie Todd, and Cale Todd; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Julia, Eli, and Cole Ward; Sadie and Stella Mueller; Mylee Paige and Wade Schweppe; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stan and Brenda Todd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Todd, and her parents, Charlie and Helen Pinkston.

Memorials may be mailed to Bond County Area Theater (BCAT), 603 Locust St., Greenville, IL 62246 or the DeMoulin Museum, 205 S. Prairie St., Greenville, IL 62246.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Though Paige leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly, her love, laughter, and unmistakable sparkle will live on in every Cardinals game, every pink treasure, every quilt stitched with care, every scoop of ice cream enjoyed without guilt, and every child who finds the courage to step onto a stage. The lessons she taught through her generosity, her enthusiasm for life, and her boundless love for family will remain long after her passing. Her story was one of joy, devotion, adventure, and love, and those who knew her are better for having shared in it.

The family has entrusted Assalley Funeral Home in Greenville with the arrangements.
