Harry Herman Horrer

arry Herman Horrer, 74 of Palmer, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in his home.  He was born on February 25, 1952, in Jacksonville, the son of Herman and Reba (Day) Horrer.  He was affiliated with the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness.  Harry was a legendary welder whose skill, craftsmanship, and work ethic earned him the respect of everyone who knew him. He began his career at Eli Bridge Company in Jacksonville before spending many years at ADM. Eventually, he fulfilled his dream of owning and operating N & H Welding and Repair, where he became known as the person who could fix just about anything and always took pride in a job well done. Beyond his talent with metal, Harry was a gifted storyteller, a mentor to many, and a friend to countless people. He never knew a stranger, could strike up a conversation with anyone, and had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. Harry also had a playful side—he could surprise just about anyone by breaking into a rap, always getting a laugh from family and friends. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, showing off his unexpected rapping skills, or laughing while watching his favorite show, Ridiculousness, Harry’s warm personality, quick wit, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his children: Christina Wiseman of Palmer, Jay R. Tarrant of Morrisonville, and Jonathan Tarrant of Mt. Auburn; grandchildren: Kelly DelPonte (Justin), Matthew Tarrant, Jayson Tarrant, Lucus Tarrant, Jaxson Markley, Alexander Tarrant, Damien Tarrant, Andrew Tarrant, Bailee Marie, Alissa Sharp, Julia Bertolino, Ellis Wickwire, Trenten Tarrant, and Mason Tarrant; great grandchildren: Amelia DelPonte, Justin Jarod DelPonte, Kohen Sharp, Kamreigh Nash, Keaton Nash, and Jarod T. Cole; special niece Donna Sanders; son-in-law: Trey Wickwine; special friend: Jessica Tarrant; and many other extended grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Jarod Tarrant; daughter: Kim Wickwine; sister: Sherry Dennison; and son-in-law: Tommy Wiseman.

A funeral service for Harry will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Doug Chamness officiating.  The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Morrisonville and burial will take place in Anderson Cemetery, Palmer.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
