Rachael Jean “Rae” England, 100 of Morrisonville, departed this world on Monday, August 17, 2026, at High Point Residence in Taylorville. She was born the third of four daughters to John and Jean (Conn) Fisher on April 18, 1926, in Gillespie. She married Darrel Dean England on October 18, 1951, in Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1998Rae retired from the State of Illinois after 26 years. She was a member of the Morrisonville United Methodist Church. In her younger years she served as a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher. For many years she was in charge of the annual church bazaar. She was a member of the Morrisonville American Legion Auxiliary and Civic Janes. Many ladies from Morrisonville will remember Rae as their Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going on bus trips. Her favorite trip was to Scotland to visit with cousins and see where her parents were raised.
Rae’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Taylorville High Point Residence and Hands of God Hospice for the caring and kindness given to our mother and grandmother during the last 5 years.
She is survived by her daughter: Vicki (Joe) Kent of Morrisonville; grandchildren: Marcy (Jerry) Held, Stefanie Kent, and Barry (Amy) Kent; great grandchildren: Brendan Held, Ryan Held, Alexis Kent, and Alivia Kent; sister: Nettie Saric of Gillespie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Robert England; sisters: Mary (Wess) Granger and Margaret (John) Lehman; and brother-in-law: John Saric.
A visitation for Rae will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville. A private family graveside will take place at Morrisonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morrisonville Ambulance Service. Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rae was a wonderful lady and friend. So full of life. She always brought laughter and fun.
Sending sympathy to Raes family.
Unfortunately we can’t attend her service but have alot memories to remember her by.
To Vicki and family: Sorry for the loss of Rae. I have known her for years, as my mom and she traveled a lot on shopping trips. I spent a lot of time helping decorate or create crafts for special events. I am sorry that I was unable to attend the visitation, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Vicky , Marcy , Stephanie , Barry , i’m so sorry to see of Rae’s passing. Rae was a wonderful lady loved her so much. We had so many good times playing bingo with her and Betty, and so many others I’m not going to say we didn’t get in trouble a few times in the bingo halls. We had such great times on the trips to Iowa. Rae loved partying and having several of us to her house. The one time I remember was Christmas and she had a big Christmas party with everything, just right and lo and behold Santa Claus showed up. She just couldn’t get over that how Santa came walking into her house. I’m sure she was in on it, but she let on like she didn’t know a thing about Santa Claus. Good job Barry! I know I don’t have to tell you all this, but you all were her life day in and Day Out. She talked about all of the grandkids and the great grandkids and were so proud of all of them, I felt like I knew every single one of them and only met 1 of them. She was like a grandmother to me. Just like my grandmother was that I lost years ago. She stepped in and was full of spunk, and fun times just like mine was I think that’s why we got along so well and had so many good times together, we drug little Betty along with us. And got her into some trouble sometimes, and she would kind of bury her head, but we would bring her along anyway, and say, come on, Betty, we’re going to do this. We had so many fun times that I will miss forever but will always cherish the memories with Rae and Betty especially, I know you all have more and more wonderful memories too. So just lean on those You have my sympathy.
