Ruth A. Ellis

Ruth Ann Ellis, 58 of Springfield, passed away at 7:01 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born on December 1, 1957 at Springfield the daughter of David and Zora Marie (Phillips) Myers Sr. Ruth married Harold Ellis Sr. on September 19, 1986 at Divernon. She was preceded in death by her mother; Sisters, Peggy Sue Nance and Ethel Louise Wienkuaf; Step son, Harold Ellis Jr; Former husband, Charles Ganther.

Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of Heritage Free Will Baptist Church in Springfield.

Survivors: Husband, Harold Ellis Sr. of Springfield, IL; Son, Rich (wife, Ann) Ganther of Morrisonville, IL; Daughters, Loretta (husband, John) England of Toulon, IL, Ann (husband, Charles) Rutherford and Peggy Sue Ganther both of Springfield, IL; Brother, David Myers Jr. of Springfield, IL; Father, David Myers Sr. of Springfield, IL; 15 Grandchildren; Step daughters, Evon Ellis of Springfield, IL and Rena (husband, Paul) Eskew of Bolivia, IL; Many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church, 3436 South Douglas Avenue, Springfield, IL with Dr. Marcellus J. Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church.

Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
