Raberta M. Neathery

Raberta M. Neathery, 98 of Taylorville passed away at 11:15 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2014 at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on February 17, 1916 at Morrisonville the daughter of Lawrence Ray and Verda (Swift) Smith. She married Mel Neathery on Bebruary29, 1936 at Taylorville; he preceded her in death on August 26, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters.

Raberta was a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorville where she served on the Board of Deacons and chaired the Memorial Committee.

Survivors include: 2 Sisters, Mary May of California and Elaine Galyon of Springfield, IL; 1 Brother, Larry Smith of Naples, FL; Special Niece, Lou (Husband, Jim) Manuel of Stonington, IL; Many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. John Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.
