Will Seidel, 75 of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of Taylorville passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 while vacationing at Kentucky Lake. Will had fought aortic disease for many years which led to a massive spinal cord stroke.

He was born on November 7, 1940 at Paxton the son of Gus and Evelyn (Johnson) Seidel. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Juli Seidel.

Will enjoyed retirement, loved being on the water, and was never satisfied with any of his boats. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, and lived life to its fullest. He was successful in various businesses in the Taylorville area including, funeral, furniture and a consultant company for Coca-Cola. He loved his family, his friends and especially his dog, Gunner.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Linda (Fabbri) Seidel, celebrating 56 years together; His children, Jill and Jim Minton of Owaneco, IL and Staci Lilly and Gary Holloway of Petersburg, IL; His grandchildren, Sean Tipsord, Tony Minton and Emma Minton; 1 Brother, Jim Seidel of Springfield, IL; 1 Sister, Bonnie Eighner of Rankin, IL.

A casual gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:30-6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. A short remembrance service will begin at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, officiated by Pastor Dave Poeschel. Will's ashes will be cast in the Florida waters.

For anyone wishing to honor Will's memory: Cherish those you love, pay it forward, and for Heaven's sake, do not vote for Hillary!

  1. Light a CandleI worked for Will and Linda at the furniture store from 8/76 to 8/80. I have many fond memories of them. Will was always a good and fair man and I looked up to him. Linda was always sweet as could be and had some funny stories. Forty five years and I still think of them. Rest in peace Will, you were a good man and I appreciate you. You had a bigger impact on my life than you knew.
