Anna Ruth Chitwood

Anna Ruth Chitwood age 74 of Morrisonville, Illinois passed from this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home. 

She was born November 27, 1946 in Scott County, Tennessee to the late Sidney Watters and Freida (Davis) Watters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Max Dewey Chitwood Sr., a son, Mark Chitwood, grandchildren, Brittany Morell and John Tyler Morell, and sisters, Thelma Gibson and Brenda Watters. 

Surviving family include her sons, Max Dewey Chitwood, Jr., (Bev) of Taylorville, Illinois, Michael Chitwood (Pam) of Owaneco, Illinois, Anthony Chitwood (Shelly) of Taylorville, Illinois, and John Chitwood (Kim) of Whitley City, Kentucky; her daughters, Melissa Morell of Morrisonville, Illinois and Terri Rickman (Rex) of Taylorville, Illinois; grandchildren, Andrea Adams, Ashley Chitwood, Sean Chitwood, Jordan Chitwood, Tiffany Rickman, Zachary Chitwood, Colton Rickman, Jerrica Remlinger, Tyler Chitwood, Payton Chitwood, Haley Chitwood, and Hannah Chitwood; and great-grandchildren, Emmaline, Logan, Clementine, Scarlett, Kaylee, Mark, and Carter Chitwood, Sawyer Adams, Barrett and Oakleigh Remlinger. 

Also surviving are Anna Ruth's brothers, Reuben "JuneBug" Watters, Billy Ray Watters, and Roy Lee Watters; and sisters, Emma Lucille Watters, Carolyn Watters Davis, and Patty Wyatt. 

Anna Ruth enjoyed music and dancing, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Cody Canada officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Anna Ruth will be laid to rest in the Silerville Cemetery. 

The family has entrusted Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville with local arrangements.
