Carl Joseph Poggenpohl

MORRISONVILLE - Carl Joseph Poggenpohl, 82 of Morrisonville passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 6:40 AM at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 11, 1929 in Decatur the son of Fred and Helen (Keller) Poggenpohl. He married Martha Howard on January 11, 1958 in Carlinville. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

Carl was a lifelong farmer in the Morrisonville area before his retirement. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church and Christian County Farm Bureau. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors: Wife, Martha Poggenpohl of Morrisonville, IL; 1 Daughter, Ruth Poggenpohl of Springfield, IL; 3 Sons, Dennis, Richard and John Poggenpohl all of Morrisonville, IL; Brother, Robert Poggenpohl of Omaha, NE; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Gerald Bunse officiating. Burial will follow in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery, Morrisonville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville.
