Jeannie Smith

Jeannie Marie Smith, 30 of Springfield passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born April 9, 1981, at Mattoon, the daughter of John and Luenda Rodgers Belk. She married Jason D. Smith. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Selbert Davis Rodgers, Brenda Kay Norris Fleming, Frances W. Belk and Barbara Walter Belk, and uncle, Gregory Rodgers.

Jeannie was employed as a caregiver in home healthcare.

Survivors: Husband, Jason Smith of Springfield, IL; sons: Quentin and Gavin Smith; daughters, Gabrielle and Alexis Smith; parents, John “Jay” and Luenda “Lu” Belk of Taylorville, IL; brother, James Matich of Niantic, IL; sisters: Angela Belk of Virginia and Amanda Belk of Taylorville, IL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral with Pastor Jim Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Buckhart. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
