Gwendolyn Unser

Gwendolyn Unser, 92 of Morrisonville passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 2:25 a.m. at Meadow Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville.

She was born on October 13, 1919 at Nokomis the daughter of Daniel and Matilda (Throckmorton) O’Brien. She married Francis N. Unser on February 20, 1940 at St. Maurice; he preceded her in death on November 25, 1992. Gwen was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, Foresters and Morrisonville Community Club.

Survivors include, daughter, Kathy (husband, Jerry) Swick of Coffeen, IL; sons, Tom Unser of Morrisonville, Jim (wife, Sue Ann) Unser of Stonington, and Mike (wife, Sheila) Unser of Morrisonville; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, son, Robert Unser, Grandson, David Bradley Unser, twin sister, Gladys Prose, infant sister, Reberta O’Brien, brothers, Herschel, William and Carroll O’Brien.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville with Father Gerald Bunse officiating. Burial will follow at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
