Rose Schroyer, 95, of Taylorville passed away at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Memorial Medical Center.

She was born May 6, 1914, in Taylorville, the daughter of Abel and Nellie Derringer Maquet. She married C. Herschel Schroyer on August 11, 1934, in Taylorville. He died in 1989. Rose was a homemaker and an avid bingo player.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Pierce of Taylorville; son, Roger (wife Linda) Schroyer of Taylorville; daughter-in-law, Dorris Schroyer of Taylorville; grandchildren: Steve (Kathi) Schroyer of Clarendon Hills, Lisa (Gabe) Corey of Des Plaines, Loretta (Miguel) Bonilla of Statesville, NC, Stephanie (Ron) Stivers of Taylorville and Sarah (Josh) Heberling of Rochester; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Elsie Powell of Taylorville and Dorothy Mathon of Granite City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Ronald Schroyer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, in Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Dr. Lonnie Southern officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, in the funeral home.
