Marion Richard Hill

Marion Richard Hill, 91 of Taylorville, IL. formerly of Mt. Auburn, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Decatur Rehabilitation Center, Decatur, IL.

He was born July 6, 1924 in Mt. Auburn, IL. the son of John J. and Martha Jane (Dowdell) Hill. He married Alice C. Gibson October 13, 1956 in Taylorville, IL. She preceded him in death March 29, 2016.

Mr. Hill was a heavy equipment operator for many years last working at Circle Steel from 1966-1988. He was a member of Taylorville United Methodist Church, loved reading and was a die-hard Cubs fan.

He is survived by a brother in law, Herbert Gibson, of Decatur along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, three brothers: Jimmy, Johnny and Arthur and a sister Elizabeth Milligan.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, in Taylorville United Methodist Church wit Pastor Becky Lemke officiating. Burial will take place Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is handling arrangements.
