Rosalie Durbin
Rosalie Durbin, 73, of Taylorville died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 29, 1934 in Kincaid to Earl and Beulah (Jelley) Dean. She married Eugene Brown and they later divorced. She later married Donald Edward "Ed" Durbin on September 4, 1971 in Montgomery County, Illinois.
She was a dispatcher at the Taylorville Police Department and Christian County Sheriffs Office. She later worked for Christian County Mental Health. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville Moose Lodge, V.F.W., and American Legion. She was an avid fisherman and loyal Chicago Cubs fan.
She is survived by her husband, Sons: Harold Brown of Palmer, Faron Brown and wife Janet of Taylorville, and Jeff Brown and wife Janel of McLeansboro, 11; Daughter: Anita Durbin of Beardstown, 11; Sister: Martha Cook of Taylorville and Twylia Acosta of California; Brother: Bud (wife Deanna) Dean of Florida; Mother-In-Law: Lela G. Hazel of Taylorville; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 son.
Funeral Service will be held at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville on Friday, October 12 , 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville.
