Darlene F. Dowdy

Darlene F. Dowdy, 83 of 301 College St. Winchester, KY died at 7:00 am Monday February 14, 2005 at her home. She was born on June 4, 1921 in Morrisonville, IL. She was the daughter of the late William Edward and Alma Durbin Fleming. She was the wife of William R. Dowdy for 58 years.

She was a retiree of the Bluegrass Army Depot. After her retirement she became a homemaker for her family. 

Additional survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law: David and Lynn Dowdy, Dennis and Maureen Dowdy and Douglas and Jennie Dowdy. Two Daughters and two sons-in-law, DeLinda and Donald Pelfrey Donalda and Barry Sons; Daughter-in-law Mrs. William ( Dena) Dowdy, Eight Grandchildren Diana and Martin Kirk, Scott and Paula Dowdy, Dawn Pelfrey, Megan Dowdy, Scott Dowdy, Will Dowdy, Tan Dowdy and Miranda. Dowdy; five great grandchildren Mason Kirk, Gavin Kirk, Taylor Dowdy, Torilynn Dowdy and Treanna Dowdy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday at Scobee Funeral Home, with a Rosary service to begin at 8 pm. by Deacon Chuck Kennedy. 

Services will be held 10 am Saturday February 19, 2005 at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, IL. Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL. Casketbearers will be the Grandsons. Contributions are requested to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester, KY 40391
