Cleda Hoxsey, 90, of Donnellson, IL passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 9:00 PM at Greenville Regional Hospital.
She was born on October 8, 1915 in Reno, IL the daughter of Louis and Leora (Webster) Alexander. She married John A. Hoxsey on August 15, 1931 at Hillsboro; he preceded her in death on March 22, 1990. Also preceding her in death were her parents, 1 Brother and 4 Sisters.
Mrs. Hoxsey had been the owner of restaurants in Old Ripley and Donnellson. She also cooked at Skelly’s truck Stop in Greenville.
Survivors: Sons, Robert Hoxsey of Donnellson, IL, Melvin (companion, Diane) Hoxsey of Hillsboro, IL and William “Bill” (wife, Kathy) Hoxsey of Girard, IL; Daughters, Glendola Faulk of Oklahoma, Etta Masinelli of Staunton, IL and Nola Dewitt of Daytona Beach, FL; 21 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister, Flossie Seidel of DuQuoin, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 2 at 2:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Dr. Lonnie Laughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.
In memory of Cleda Hoxsey memorials may be made to Living Stones Fellowship Youth Center.
