Velma Colbrook Davis, 101, of Morrisonville, died at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001 in Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, Plymouth, WI.

Final rites were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 in Morrisonville First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Thomson officiating. Burial was in Morrisonville Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name to first Presbyterian Church or the Salvation Army.

Visitation was held Friday evening in Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time in the church on Saturday.

Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 5, 1900 in Morrisonville, the daughter of Edwin and Bonnie R. Funderburk (Hewitt) Colbrook. She married Lloyd E. Davis on Dec. 17, 1937 in Fulton, MO. He died Nov. 14, 1955.

She attended Morrisonville and Taylorville public schools, and graduated from Millikin University and the University of Illinois where she received a Masters Degree in French. She taught in several schools for some time and was later engaged in farm management.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville; Lady Landowners Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Red Cross, United Way and UNICEF.

Surviving are sons, Frederick Davis and wife Margaret of Plymouth, WI. and Lloyd Davis and wife Thuy of Falls Church, VA., grandchildren, James , Jeffery, Julie, Jonathan, Christine, Cynthia and Richard; and 17 great-grandchildren.
