Warren J. Petersen, 77, of Morrisonville died at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 21. 1924 in Chicago. the son of John and Alice Joachim Petersen. He married Betty Phelps on June 11. 1950, in Beardstown. He was a teacher and administrator in the Nauvoo School District from 1950 to 1953 and in the Morrisonville School District from 1953 his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville. He was Past Commander of the Morrisonville American Legion, past secretary of the Morrisonville Kiwanis Club and Past Lt. Governor of Division 30 of Kiwanis. He was a member of the National Education Assn., the Illinois Education Assn. and the Morrisonville Community Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are his wife: brother, Don Petersen of Chicago: sister, Ruby Neumann of Chicago: several nieces and nephews: and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his par­ents: sister, Audrey Petersen; and brother. Ralph Petersen.

Funeral services Will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 30. in First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville. With Rev. James L. Thomson officiating. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Morrisonville American Legion.

Visitation Will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, in Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Horne in Morrisonville and for one hour prior to serv­ices in the church on Saturday.
