The family of Richard William Fuchs is sad to announce the peaceful passing of their beloved brother and uncle, March 31, 2025, at his home in O’Fallon, IL.  Richard was born May 10, 1954 in Springfield, IL to the late Robert E. and Florence Fuchs of Morrisonville, IL.  He graduated from Morrisonville High School with the class of 1972.

Richard married Michelle Luczak on June 21, 1989, at the home of Bon and Beth Fuchs in Morrisonville, IL, officiated by the late Judge Rolland Tipsword.  He worked at Fiat Allis in Springfield along with his father for several years.  Later, he became an Over-The-Road truck driver and traveled with the entire family.  He enjoyed playing cards with friends and retired as a supervisor at Harrah’s Casino in St. Louis, MO.  Richard enjoyed traveling and playing in blackjack tournaments all over the country.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers-in-law, Don Deal and Rick Luczak.

Richard is survived by his brother, Bob (Beth) Fuchs of Morrisonville, IL;  a sister, Judy Deal of Taylorville, IL; his nieces and nephews, Ben (Tracy) Fuchs of Saint Jacob, IL, Maggie (Ryan) Leonard of Park Ridge, IL, Wendy (David) Fleming of Taylorville, IL, Brent (fiancé Tawn Herman) Deal of Champaign, IL; several great nieces and nephews, Alex, Wesley, and Piper Fuchs; Kiley, Braden (Erin), and Kourtni Fleming; Tommy, Josie, and Hailey Leonard; and Brooke Deal, as well as companion Ruby Jones.

In keeping with Richard’s wishes, his interment will be at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville, IL, with private graveside services for family members to be announced later.  Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
