Bernice Dorothy Cooler

Bernice Dorothy Cooler, 88, of Morrisonville passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 9:00 AM at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born April 9, 2018 in Edgeley, North Dakota the daughter of John MacPherson and Wilhelmina (Cordes) Robinson. She married Charles G. Cooler in 1955 in Biloxi, Mississippi; he preceded her in death in 1975. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Daughter, Cynthia Matulia; Sisters, Gladys Decotson and Morjorie Dunsdon; Brothers, James, Harold, Raymond and George Robinson.
Mrs. Cooler was a 1936 graduate of Edgeley, North Dakota high school and a 1941 graduate of Jamestown College in Jamestown, NC with a bachelor's degree. She taught Latin, English, music and art for the Morrisonville schools for many years. Her memberships include First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville, Civic Janes, Illinois Education Association, National Education Association and was a Cub Scout leader. She was a certified Red Cross worker in Japan after World War II.
Survivors: Sons, Paul (Kathleen) Cooler of Klamath Falls, OR and Edward Cooler of Golden, CO; Grandson, Michael (Sara) Cooler of Eugene, OR; Sister, Jeanette Hipp of Elk Grove, CA; Son-in-Law, Frank (Amy) Matulia of Clinton, Utah.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 6 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville with the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow in Morrisonville Cemetery.
Though flowers are appreciated memorial may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Morrisonville Community Ambulance, Morrisonville Senior Citizens or charity of choice.
