Edward F. Scharf, 88, McPherson, Kansas formerly of the Sorento area passed away December 10, 2003 at 1:43 pm at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Born December 13, 1914 in Sorento he was the son of Charles and Anna (Schoen) Scharf. He married Hazel A. Boyd on April 6, 1946 in Carlinville, IL. Preceding him in death were brothers, Amiel, Fred, Albert, Carl and Henry Scharf; sister, Minnie Vogel.

Mr. Scharf was a life member of VFW Post #2715 of Gillespie and Evangelical & Reformed Church of Grantfork.

Survivors: Wife, Hazel A. Scharf of Litchfield, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Perfetti funeral Home in Sorento. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, Rev. Oley Lawson officiating. Inurnment will be in New Douglas Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
