Frances 'Fran' Carol Renner

Frances ‘Fran’ Carol Renner, 85, of Panama, Illinois, passed away on September 5, 2025, in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family.

Fran was born on September 28, 1939, in Ridgeway, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Louise (Maloney) Siener. She married Robert G. ‘Bob’ Renner on October 10, 1959, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, in Hillsboro, Illinois. She shared her life for over 55 years with her soulmate, until Bob’s passing on September 28, 2014.

After moving to Alton, Illinois, from Ridgeway, Illinois, Fran’s final move was to Montgomery County, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School with the 1957 class. Fran was a long-time resident of Panama, Illinois, where she served as the village treasurer for 31 years, as well as working at Franklin Life in Springfield, Illinois, ten years at the Hillsboro Glass Factory, and as a homemaker raising her children, Tony and Carol, and taking care of the family and household.

Fran enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, and crafting, as well as being a part of the senior citizens’ group in Panama.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and brother, Tom Siener.

Surviving Fran are her children, Tony Renner of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carol Raymond of Panama, Illinois; beloved grandsons, Lance Elliot of Granite City, Illinois, Alexander Raymond of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Zachary Raymond stationed at Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, California; siblings, John (Ann) Siener, of St. Louis, Missouri; Charlotte Cherry of Orange Beach, Alabama; and niece Sarah (Greg) Bowe, of St. Louis.

Memorial donations to Union Cemetery in honor of Fran may be mailed to Union Cemetery, PO Box 760, Panama, IL 62077.

There are to be no public services.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Panama, Illinois.

The family has entrusted Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Panama with the ceremony.
