Irene Margaret Allen

Irene Margaret Allen, age 87, of Taylorville, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 6:15 a. m., in her residence. She was born on December 8, 1918 in Wayne County, Illinois, the daughter of Roscoe and Carrie Ellis DeSelms. She was married to Cale Edwin Allen and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Valerie S. Singh, Michelle A. Daniels, and Yvonne M. (husband Allen L.) Ginger, all of Taylorville, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Gerald R. Allen.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 1:00 p. m. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, Illinois with Brother Ted Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Illinois.

Pallbearers include James Ginger II, Shanda Ginger, Travis Ginger, Suviya Dickey, Weston Ginger, Allen Ginger and Garrett Dickey.

Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
