Leona P. Huddleston

Leona P. Huddleston, 94, of Morrisonville passed away Friday, August 27, 2004 at 3:47 AM at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. 

She was born December 21, 1909 in Byrdstown, Tennessee the daughter of Burley and Laura (Mullins) Dowdy. Leona married Claude Huddleston on January 31, 1926 in Byrdstown, Tennessee, he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Barbara Downs; son, James Huddleston; 3 granddaughters; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. 

Mrs. Huddleston was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrisonville. She was a homemaker. 

Survivors: 3 sons, Cletus (Rose) Huddleston of Morrisonville, Cecil (Patty) Huddleston of Taylorville and Donald (Sharri) Huddleston of Palmer; 15 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lee Dowdy of Morrisonville, Jay Dowdy of Palmer and Bill (Darlene) Dowdy of Winchester, Kentucky; 2 sisters, Stella Sparling and Betty (Gene) Sikes both of Taylorville; Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 30, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Morrisonville, with Rev. Chad Foster officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, Palmer.
