Mary Jean Simunich, 75, of Sorento, IL passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 7: 15 A.M. at St. Lukes Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.
She was born January 11, 1930 at Miami, Oklahoma the daughter of Thomas Walter and Cletus Armenta (Woolsey) Fly. She married Steve Frank Simunich on November 24, 1972 at Natural Bridge Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on October 30, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Mrs. Simunich was a homemaker and also worked as a bookkeeper. She was an accomplished pianist playing for many churches during her lifetime. She was a member of the Reno Baptist Church and former member of Villa Heights Christian Church in Joplin, Missouri.
Survivors: Twin sister, Martha (husband, Robert) Shireman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Brother in Laws, Daniel J. Simunich of Smithton, IL and Melton E. Simunich of St. Louis, MO; Several Nieces and Nephews including special niece, Merry Miller.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 15 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16 at 11 :00 AM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Gary Shaw and Richard Fones (not a Rev.) officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights.
