Opal J. Weinberg

Opal J. (Burris) Weinberg, 53, of Sorento died Thursday, June 13, at 10:52 a.m. at Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was a Hillsboro native.

The funeral was held Saturday morning, June 15, at Perfetti funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Dale Deverick as Clergyman. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery at Sorento. Memorials are suggested to the Weinberg family.

Born at Hillsboro Oct. 20, 1948, Mrs. Weinberg was a daughter of the late Ernest and Rose (Boyd) Burris. She married Marvin T. Weinberg Oct. 20 1967, at Donnellson, and he died April 26, 1992.

She is survived by her step-mother, Rayola Burris of Greenville; stepsons Melvin Weinberg of Kilgore, Texas, and Rudy Weinberg of Ore City, Texas; a daughter, Maxine Davidson and husband, Tracy, of Athens; three stepdaughters, Joyce Apple of Marshall, Texas, Nedra Bauer of Sorento and Lindella Fields of Fort Mohave, Ariz.

She also leaves a granddaughter, Brittany Davidson; 15 step-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Orville Dean Burris of Benld; a sister, Leota Hancock and husband, Bob of Fillmore; two step-sisters, Evelyn Elwood of Greenville and Theresa Matheny of Spring City, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
