Phyllis Bloome

Phyllis Franklin Bloome, 87, of Morrisonville, IL, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Phyllis was born on June 13, 1938, in Taylorville, to the late Lowell Franklin and Ina (Deal) Franklin. On October 27, 1957, she married Joseph Albert Bloome in Morrisonville, and they spent nearly 69 memorable years together.

Phyllis was an avid reader and a talented gardener. She especially loved raising her beautiful day lilies and spending time outdoors. Above all, she loved her family with all her heart. She deeply cherished all times spent with them.

She will be missed by her husband: Joseph “Joe” Albert Bloome; her children: Dr. Deborah Bloome (Tami); Joseph Lowell Bloome (Denise); Clayton Thomas Bloome (Christy); her grandchildren: Joseph Lowell Bloome Jr. (Gillian); Jacob Troy Bloome (Rachel); Rebecca Riley Bloome (Dustin); Ryan Convery (Nicole); Michaela Convery; her great grandchildren: Amelia Quinn Bloome; Nova Jo Bloome; Addison Grace Bloome; Baylor Convery; Reese Convery; Cade Convery; as well as her sisters: Barbara Franklin; Kay Franklin Brooman; and her brother-in-law: Jim Sloan.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Ina Franklin, her sister, Janice Sloan and brother-in-law, Dave Brooman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Ferrill officiating and interment will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery.
