Rodney L. Miller, 78, of Taylorville died at noon Sunday, October 29, 2006, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 18, 1928, in Taylorville, the son of Walter F. and Florence Thompson Miller. He married Mary Chisholm. She died in 1995. He then married Stella Goin Morgan in 1996. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master’s Degree in music. He taught music at Pana Grade School before retirement. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians’ Local #798, serving on the executive board. He served in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife: sons: Steve (wife Cathy) Miller of Taylorville and Dave (wife Crystal) Miller of Haysville, KS; daughter, Regina (husband Keith) Hohenstein of Taylorville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bud (wife Helen) Miller of Champaign, and two nieces.
No services are planned. His body was donated to science.
