Wanda Irene Tipsword

Wanda Irene Tipsword, 80, of Sorento passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 6:50 PM at her home.

She was born January 30, 1926 in Sorento the daughter of John Mel and Nancy Alice (Cruthis) Enloe. She married Harley A. Tipsword on February 20, 1954 in Roxana, Illinois; he preceded her in death on July 27, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents; 2 Sisters, Lillian Dauderman and Wilma Morgan; 5 Brothers, Willard, Lloyd, Ivan, Art and Virgil Enloe.

Mrs. Tipsword was General Assistance Clerk for Shoal Creek Township for 30 years. She was formerly employed at Olin Corporation from 1952-1956. She was a loving mother who continued working while raising her family. Her memberships include the Sorento United Methodist Church and Kessinger American Legion Post 713 Auxiliary.

Survivors: Daughter, Carrie (husband, Jim) Reineke of Sorento, IL; Son, Kevin (wife, Kristy) Tipsword of Sorento, IL; 2 Grandchildren, Kyle Harley Tipsword and Kolbie Ann Tipsword both of Sorento, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 11 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 12 at 11:00 AM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Nancy Ribes officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Enloe, Stan Morgan, Alan Tipsword, Edwin Landolt, Roger Cruthis and Mike Duckels.

In memory of Wanda Tipsword memorials may be made to Sorento United Methodist Church or Sunnyside Cemetery.
