Warren Philbrook Reed, 77, of Morrisonville passed away peacefully at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009, in his daughter’s home in Taylorville.

He was born January 5, 1932, in St. Elmo, the son of William Newton and Eliza Dees Philbrook Reed. He married Eleanor Loyce Huddleston on March 13, 1955, in Fayette County. He was a 1950 graduate of Brownstown High School. He attended Eastern Illinois University after the war, graduating in 1959. Warren was a shop teacher with the Morrisonville School District and a stock broker. He also worked for the State of Illinois. He served as a cook in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife; daughters: Terry Held of Oklahoma City, OK, Jill (husband Rich) Medina of Chino Hills, CA, and Dee (husband Paul) Held of Taylorville; sons: Bob Reed of Oklahoma City, OK, Bill (wife Becky) Reed of Morrisonville and Brad (wife Shannon) Reed of Norman, OK; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Olin (wife Frances) Reed of Flora; and sister, Donna (husband George) Bender of Charleston. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Reed.

Private family interment will be held, with military honors conducted by the Morrisonville American Legion Post #721.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, in Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville.
