William J. ‘Bill’ Schaaf, 92, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on September 30, 2025, at the Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Greenville, Illinois.

Bill was born on May 18, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George and Bernice (Cramer) Schaaf. On November 17, 1973, he married Marjorie Ann Ziemba in Chicago, Illinois. They were married until her passing on January 11, 2007.

Bill was a quiet, kind, unassuming man who enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and watching sporting events – especially baseball and football. In his earlier years he liked to travel and especially enjoyed cruises. He was an avid book reader, and later in life, he enjoyed listening to books on audio.

For nearly 50 years, he worked at Tuthill Pump Company as a data processor. He began his career, at the age of 16, when he was still in high school and retired at the age of 65. He was a dedicated and committed employee.

Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife.

Surviving Bill are his sister, Ruth Kenny of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Geri (Bob) Moore of Greenville, Illinois; brother-in-law, Joseph E. (Carol) Ziemba of Frankfort, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no public services.

Burial: St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Illinois.
