Arlene Briggs

Arlene Briggs, 84, of St. Louis, MO passed away at 2:40 A.M. on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Surrey Place in Chesterfield, Missouri.

She was born on December 25, 1930, in Saint Louis, Missouri the daughter of Wilbur and Myrtle (Eckert) Pieper.

On July 7, 1970, she married David Jared Briggs in St. Louis, Mo. She was a Catholic who blessed our lives by her daily display of unconditional love, positive attitude, and inner strength.

Survivors include four children from her first marriage to Eirvin Eugene Ely on September 1, 1950: Candace Ann Ely of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Cathy Jean Ely of St. Louis, Evan Eugene Ely of Safford, Ariz. and Carolyn Marie Ely Parham (John Randolph) of St. Louis, four grandchildren, and her first cousin, Robert Wallace (Jeannie) of St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, at noon at the Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. Visitation will take place one hour earlier. Burial will follow at the Old Stonington Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Alzheimer's Association, Regions Hospital Alzheimer's Research Center in Minnesota or Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Ladue, Missouri.
