Arnold E. Sides

Arnold E. Sides, 91 of Blue Mound passed away at 8:40 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his home.

He was born 0n June 17, 1923 at Pocahontas, Mo the son of Auther and Nellie (Abernathy) Sides. He married Violet King on July 5, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Margaret; 1 sister; 4 brothers; 2 grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Arnold was a mechanic at C. B. Moore in Blue Mound, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of Taylorville VFW Post and veteran of the Army serving during World War II.

Survivors include: Wife, Violet Sides of Blue Mound, IL; Daughter, Linda (husband, Mike) Mulikey of St. Louis, MO; Sons, Roger (wife, Nila) Sides of Stonington, IL, Larry (wife, Kathy) Sides and Ron (companion, Mary) Sides both of Taylorville, IL and Tex (wife, Darline) Sides of Blue Mound, IL; 18 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 2 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Ellen Moma officiating.

Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound.

Visitation was held on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville was in charge of arrangements.
