B. Maxine Podeschi

SPRINGFIELD – B. Maxine Podeschi, 81, of Springfield, formerly of Taylorville, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born January 13, 1929 in Mechanicsburg, IL, the daughter of Carl and Myrtle (Jones) Copple. She married Joseph Podeschi on May 1, 1949. Throughout her life she enjoyed working in the food industry including George’s Cany Shop and Judy Lynn Candies, as well as a hostess for 10 years at Ray’s Place in Taylorville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and St. Aloysius in Springfield.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Podeschi of Springfield; a son, Jordan (Sheryl) Podeschi of Taylorville; two daughters, Linda (Jim) Richbark and Joyce (Bob) Zaffiri, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
