Barbara Ann McKinnon, 81, of Taylorville, passed away quietly on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Barb was born April 12, 1942, in Witt, the daughter of Jesse O. and A. Pauline (Kessler) Oller.  She married Robert T. McKinnon, Sr. on December 16, 1961, at the Southeran Baptist Church in Taylorville.  He preceded her in death on January 2, 2018.

Barb was a devoted member of Taylorville Christian Church.  She was a longtime member of the Hospitality Committee there, where she truly loved working alongside the many wonderful women and men of the committee.  She loved her church, and the devotion to her faith was apparent to all who knew her.  Barb was also a bus driver for Head Start in Taylorville for over 20 years.  She loved her work there and the many children she met over the decades.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric McKinnon; brothers, Keith, Earl, Butch, and Chuck Oller; and sisters, Joyce Dees, Donna Travelsted, Juanita Lawrence, and Doris J. Buck.

Barb is survived by her son, Robert T. (wife, Cathy) McKinnon, Jr. of O’Fallon, MO; grandson, Robert T. McKinnon III of O’Fallon, MO; sister, Linda (husband, Bill) Moma of Taylorville; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Taylorville Christian Church, 1124 N. Webster Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.  The funeral ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor James Jones officiating.

Interment will follow the ceremony at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Memorial Contributions may be made to: Taylorville Christian Church or Vision Way Christian School, 1124 N. Webster Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.

I loved Barb’s kindness, gentleness, confidence and care for others. She was so loving and thoughtful.
