December 30, 1961 ~ August 4, 2021

Barbara J. Grant, 59, of Panama passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Barb was born December 30, 1961 in Granite City, the daughter of John and Rosemary (Godfrey) Kampmann, Sr.  She married Patrick “Mike” Grant, Sr. on August 17, 1990 in Sorento.  He preceded her in death on February 23, 2009.

Barb graduated from high school in Granite City.  She was a homemaker, but above all, she was a caregiver to her entire family.  Barb’s door was always open, whether it was caring for her father-in-law and husband throughout their illnesses, or watching her children, grandchildren, or the neighborhood kids, she always made sure everyone had what they needed.  She put everyone’s needs before herself.  Barb was a Mrs. Fix-It extraordinaire, going as far as to replumb a family member’s kitchen.  She was a hard worker, always tending to her vegetable garden and canning.  Barb liked to have a good time too, going on many float trips and excursions to Six Flags with the family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rosie Clark; and brother, John Kampmann, Jr.

Barb is survived by her sons, Shawn Grant of Panama, and Patrick M. (wife, Shannon) Grant, Jr. of Bunker Hill; grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Kylie, and Berlyn Grant; siblings, Larry Kampmann of Carlinville, Paul Kampmann of New Douglas, Billie Jean Cooper of Benld, and Anna May Conner of Granite City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
