Bernard G. "Barney" Kramer

Bernard G. "Barney" Kramer, 89 of Taylorville passed away at 2:30 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 27, 1927 at Chicago the son of Charles and Lea (Parisot) Kramer. Barney married Sharon J. Denning on April 4, 1985 at Paducah, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Susan Dunn Pumphrey.

Barney worked for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company as an installer/repairman, retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and cars, especially his Corvette. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include: His wife, Sharon J. Kramer of Taylorville, IL; Daughters, Deb Kramer of Chatham, IL and Gena Dunn of Taylorville, IL; Sons, Randy (wife, Kay) Kramer of Ellijay, GA and Bob (wife, Paula) Dunn of Taylorville, IL; 10 Grandchildren, Mike Kramer, Krista (Andy) Turner, Garrett Pumphrey, Clinton Pumphrey, Ellie Pumphrey, Cassie (Brandon) Rush, Savanah Dunn, Quint Dunn, Marissa Heinz and Daniel Morrison; 5 Great grandchildren, Ryleigh Rush, Kaden Rush, Arlo Turner, Tori Pumphrey and Christopher Pumphrey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.
