Beverly Ann Brunson

SPRINGFIELD - Beverly Ann Cleghorn Brunson, 74, of Springfield passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, at 2:50 a.m. at St. John's Hospital.

She was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Marshall, the daughter of Samuel and Thelma Nickel Reedy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Cleghorn and Thomas Brunson; son, Charles R. Cleghorn; an infant daughter; and brother, Ross Reedy.

Mrs. Brunson was an official member of the Y-Not Chapter of the Red Hat Society and a past president of the Clay City American Legion Post 8389 Auxiliary. She was affiliated with cb'rs club (screen 9) and her handle was "Shot Gun Mom."

Survivors: daughters, Margaret "Peg" (Daniel) Prillaman of Bloomington, Lorey (Dennis) Byrne of Chestnut, Nancy (David) Thompson of Springfield, Frances Jane (James) Sorgea of Collinsville and Beverly Jean (James) of St. Peter, Mo.; sons, Thomas "Tom" (Kathy) Cleghorn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wesley (Patty) Cleghorn of Spring Valley and Billy Joe (Jennifer) Cleghorn of Noble; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
