Billy Ross Linville, 77 of Reno, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 3:50 p.m. at his home.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Sorento Baptist Church with Pastor Lin Brown officiating. Burial followed at Kirkland Cemetery north of Sorento.

Mr. Linville was born on Nov. 5, 1934 in Irving, the son of Ross and Nellie (Hampton) Linville. He married Connie Sue Hicks on June 18, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Nokomis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Linville; a brother, Arthur Linville; and a sister, Vivian Wood.

He worked for Olin Corporation in East Alton, retiring after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Sorento Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his wife in Reno; a daughter, Sharon Linville, of Pocahontas; sons, Mike Linville of Litchfield, and David (wife Linda) Linville of Pocahontas; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell (wife Barbara) Linville, of Carlinville; a sister, Virginia Crisfield, of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.

Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento was in charge of arrangements.
