Carole Swinehart

Carole Pranske Swinehart, 64, of St Anne, passed away at her home December 30, 2009. She was born in Taylorville, IL, February 11, 1945 the daughter of George and Rosetta (Strohl)Pranske. Carole marrried Lee Swinehart June 5, 1976 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chicago.Mrs. Swinehart graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of nursing degree and was the head nurse for Passavant Hospital in Chicago. She obtained her PhD degree in adult and vocational education in 2004. She helped write the curriculum for the paramedic programs in the state of Illinois and was instrumental in seeing that hospitals in Illinios were qualified for the emergency medical program. While living in Tampa, FL, Carole was a program executive for the Hillsboro County School District and was also the facilitator for the Kids-n-Kanines program. Though Carole had many hobbies such as reading, bird watching, cross-stitiching and love for nature, her passion was taking care of people.She is survived by her husband, Lee of St. Anne, 2 dogs Sara and Amanda and cat Tobi; sisters Jeanne (Wayne) Benson of Kankakee and Ruth Lebshier of Taylorville; brothers Alfred (Marian) Pranske of Springfield, Raymond (Rudolphine) Pranske of Las Vegas,NV and John Dort of Shelbyville; sister in law Dorothy Pranske of Tucson, AZ and special niece Jennifer (Jim) Schneider of Kankakee. Preceding her in death is a brother John Pranske and sister in law June Dort.
