Cayle “Fuzz” Davis, 67, of Palmer, IL, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his residence.

Cayle was born May 8, 1952 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Floyd and Marcella (Allen) Davis.  He married Janet Badman on September 19, 1971 in Taylorville, IL. 

Cayle graduated from South Fork High School in 1970, and went on to work as a master machinist at Howden Fan Company Springfield for many years.  He later retired from GSI, where he was also a machinist.  Cayle was also a gunsmith in his free time.  He enjoyed catfishing, camping, hunting, throwing horseshoes, and competing in truck pulls.  Most of all, Cayle cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Taylorville Rifle and Pistol Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Sharon Sherman and Sissy Sexton.

Cayle is survived by his wife, Janet Davis of Palmer, IL; daughter, Linda (spouse, Sheila Norris) Davis of Clinton, IL; son, Jed (wife, Sessey Lynch) Davis of Palmer, IL; grandchildren, Kelsie (fiancé, Nathan Mink) Davis of Taylorville, IL, and Levi, Lance, and Lacey Davis of Palmer, IL; siblings, William (wife, Shirley) Davis of Kincaid, IL, Peggy Crabbe of Sandwich, IL, and Becky Malone Davis of Savannah, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside Ceremony: 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL, with Rev. Dayle Badman & Rev. Chad Foster officiating.

Donations of food may be made to the Palmer Community Center on Saturday, October 5, 2019, where the family will be hosting a light meal of sandwiches and salads.

The family has entrusted Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin St., Morrisonville, IL 62546 with arrangements.
