Charles A. Goodrich

Charles A. Goodrich, 81, of Taylorville died on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 12:15 PM in the ICU at St. Johns Hospital, Springfield.

He was born on October 19, 1929 in Meredosia, IL to Howard and Beulah (Hinners) Goodrich. He married Rosemary Edwards on July 16, 1950 at the Edinburg Christian Church, Edinburg, IL.

He was a retired paper maker with Hopper Paper company. He also worked at North Elementary School in maintenance and for several years for Joe Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Taylorville Christian Church, Mound Lodge, and the guys coffee club at Arby's.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Taylorville, Son Ed (Nancy) Goodrich of Nashville, TN; Daughter Charla Starkweather of Taylorville, 4 Grandchildren, Jenny Starkweather, of Springfield, Kathleen Goodrich of Milwaukee, WI, Mary Elizabeth Goodrich of Birmingham, AL, and Ann Goodrich of Nashville, TN; 1 niece, Carol Billings and 1 nephew, Ron Alhorn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Jamie Starkweather, Brother, Howard Goodrich, and Sister, June Alhorn.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville with Rev. Dick Wamsley officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Memorials may be made Taylorville Christian Church, New Commandment Ministry Group or Oak Hill Cemetery Maintenance.
