Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Dunkirk

Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Dunkirk, 76, of Morrisonville passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 9:22 PM at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on October 9, 1928 in rural Morrisonville the son of Albert Alvin and Juanita Allen (Malsbury) Dunkirk. He married Dottie Jo Wefenstette on February 28, 1954 in the Morrisonville United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Albert Dunkirk Jr.
Mr. Dunkirk was a lifelong farmer in the Morrisonville area. He was a member of the Morrisonville United Methodist Church were he served as treasurer and member of the YCIC Class. Other memberships include the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721, Christian County Farm Bureau and past member of the Morrisonville School Board. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Army and was a recipient of a Purple Heart.
Survivors: wife, Dottie Dunkirk of Morrisonville; Son, Gary D. (Wife, Marietta) Dunkirk of Morrisonville; Daughter, Carolyn D. (Husband, Brian) Abshire of Pawnee; 4 Grandchildren, Dereke A. Dunkirk of Morrisonville, Ashley N. Niewinski of Frisco, TX, Lindsey M. Abshire and Jared B. Abshire both of Pawnee; Sister, Mary L. Himstedt of Morrisonville; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 PM Saturday, May 21 at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 22 at the Morrisonville United
Methodist Church, with Rev. B.C. Hwang officiating. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721.
In memory of Mr. Dunkirk memorials may be made to the Morrisonville United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
