Resided in: Donnellson, IL

Corey A. Roberson, 49, of Donnellson, Illinois, passed away after an accident, on March 12, 2024.

Corey was born on September 20, 1974, in Litchfield, Illinois, to David Allen and Lori Ann (O’Dell) Roberson. He married Julie Ann Browder, at their homestead, on May 30, 2022.

People who knew Corey well describe him as a very serious, quiet, shy, and considerate man. He was very tasked oriented, focused, loving and kind. He could tell a good story that was interesting and informative and could strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. He knew a little bit about everything, which kept his stories fascinating.

He grew up in the area, attended the local schools, and graduated with the Greenville Class of 1993. He went on to advance his education at the Ford Technical Center.

He worked for Ford Motor Company for 28 years, for dealerships near and far. He was a member of the Local District #9 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace.

Corey had many varying interests; he was in the band, Hard Drive, restored old cars and tractors, built model airplane and radio-controlled cars, and put together a model steam engine tractor that he worked on, in one sitting, until it was completed. He was a fan of old school country and 70’s and 80’s rock.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave.

Surviving Corey are his mother, Lori Littrell of Lesterville, Missouri, wife, Julie (Browder) Roberson of Donnellson, Illinois; children, Kristan (Ashley Wagner) Roberson of Litchfield, Illinois, Ashley (Pedro) Ivery of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Shelby Lynn (James) Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Korey Anne Roberson of Sorento, Illinois; step-son, Brenden (Dilan) Kennedy of Central Texas; and sister, Becky (Josh Bergman) Wheat of Lesterville, Missouri.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Light a CandleI remember Corey from many times and things. Haven’t talked to him in many years, but thinking of his family and close friends. RIP.

  2. Light a CandleMy heart felt prayers of God’s infinite peace love and comfort to flood over you all during this time! I had many great memories of “bugging” Corey as he tinkered with his various projects as kids. He will be dearly missed even if we never talked as adults. His family and mine were always close. My heart breaks for them all!

  3. Light a CandleI pray Corey lives in infinite joy. He was always great to me and i remember. I want his kids to know he was 100 percent good to me and folks we hung out with. We need more people on this earth like Corey. Not in heaven

  4. Light a CandleLori, Becky and to the family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all, for comfort at this very difficult time.

  5. Light a CandleAt a loss for words, but I only wish I could have been there and around him more. Corey was a straight forward and genuine man. I always enjoyed talking with him. Just wish I could have been there for him.

  6. Light a CandleI will remember the first time that he called me at the dealership wanting a job. He was so kind. Then as we became co-workers, I’ll never forget Corey and Crosby cracking jokes, singing and playing air guitar at the service desk. And here recently, Corey talking to me about wanting a slower work life. I will miss you, my friend. RIP COREY
