Dallas L. Manning, 87 of Panama passed away at 4:25 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Dallas was born on April 24, 1927 at Panama the son of Lawrence and Charlotte (Nuby) Manning. He married Fern Ash on May 25, 1945 at Edwardsville; she preceded him in death on March 31, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 Brothers, Delmar Manning and Larry Manning.

Dallas was employed at A.O. Smith in Granite City as a pipefitter for 28 years. In 1981 he joined CIPS in Coffeen as a repairman, later becoming maintenance planner, retiring after 11 years of service. Dallas also farmed and acted as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Montgomery County. He was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge in Donnellson and a member of the United Methodist Church in Panama. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and a World War II veteran serving with the US Navy, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters, Connie of Marietta, GA and Rhonda of Los Angeles, CA; 3 Sons, Dennis of Sorrento, FL, Jerry of Pekin, IL and Terry of Hillsboro, IL; 8 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Panama with Pastor Dave Trover officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Panama. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama with Masonic Rites recited at 7:45 PM.
