Darrell Burl Hemken, 68 of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 3:55 PM at his home.

He was born July 23, 1939 in Walshville Township the son of Burl and Lucy (Slagel) Hemken. Preceding him in death was his mother, sister, Myrna Worker and Nephew, Danny Worker.

Darrell farmed most of his life and had been employed at McDonnell-Douglas for 2 years, Eagle Pitcher for 9 years and the Montgomery County Highway Department for 13 years.

His memberships include the National Rifle Association, Montgomery County Farm Bureau, North American Hunting Club, Wildlife Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Shoal Creek Fox Hunters.

Survivors: Father, Burl Hemken of Hillsboro, IL; Brothers, Burton and Carl Hemken both Walshville, IL and Norman Hemken of Hillsboro, IL; Sister, Norma Elam of Davisville, MO; several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 6 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 11:00 AM at Perfetti Funeral Home with the Rev. Oley Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery north of Sorento.
