David Eugene Sheedy, 54 of Morrisonville passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 8:40 AM at his home from cancer.
He was born November 4, 1953 at Taylorville the son of Richard Eugene and Catherine Marie (Grundy) Sheedy. He married Gloria M. Painter on September 27, 1974 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville. Preceding him in death was his father; Daughter, Kayla Bethard; Granddaughter, Alli Nicole Bethard; Brother, Patrick Sheedy; Nephews, Gabe Webb and Billy Stadsholt.
David was owner of Sheedy Painting since 1994. He previously worked at Georgia Pacific from 1971-1976 and at Peabody Mine #10 Pawnee from 1976-1994. His memberships include St. Maurice Catholic Church and the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors: He was the beloved husband of Gloria M. Sheedy of Morrisonville, IL; Son, Brian (Kathy) Sheedy of Morrisonville, IL; Grandchildren, Dylan, Morgan and Wyatt Sheedy; Mother, Catherine M. “Mick” Sheedy of Morrisonville, IL; Son In Law, Shawn Bethard of Morrisonville, IL; Brothers, Michael (Linda) Sheedy, Donnie (Mary) Sheedy and Ronnie (Renee) Sheedy all of Morrisonville, IL; Sisters, Karen, (Ronnie) Rundle of Witt, IL, Diane (Brian) Rush of Taylorville, IL and Lisa (Mike) Tester of Nokomis, IL; Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Friends may call on Friday, February 1 from 4:00-8:00 PM at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February, 2 at 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father Chris J. Comerford officiating. Burial will follow in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville.
In memory of David memorials may be made to the St. Maurice Catholic Church.
Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.

  1. Dave you are gone but not forgotten, I remember all of the good times you, Jack Dey and myself had together before marrying Glo. I remember The Judge, dune buggy and all of the other toys you had and the fun you had with them and your friends. I remember myself and others visiting you one Halloween and TP ing while we visited. It was nice to visit you and Glo after all the years. R.I.P. my friend.
