David Lee Brotherton

DAVID LEE BROTHERTON, 78 , of Taylorville, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 4:20 A.M. in Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. He was born on May 8, 1930 in Mattoon, II to Orville Rhodes Brotherton and Edith I (Jarrett) Brotherton. He married Evelena May Runyon on July 20, 1956 in Mattoon, Illinois.

He was a graduate of Mattoon High School and attended Eastern Illinois University. He was a retired factory worker from GSI and also worked at the Taylorville IGA and My Store. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Evelena of Taylorville; Sons: Greg (wife Marla) of Taylorville, Mark (wife Elizabeth) of Marshall, Michigan, Stan (wife Debbie) of Port Charlotte, FL, and Michael (wife Beth) Brotherton of Taylorville; 7 Grandchildren: Clint Brotherton of Phoenix, AZ, Ross Brotherton, of Taylorville, Doug, Mike and Eric Brotherton all of Marshall, Michigan, Lisa (husband Nathan) Corbett of Chatham, II and Joe Brotherton of Chatham, II, Jorden, Jacen, Madeline, and Mallory Brotherton all of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. at Shafer Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Sward officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville with military rites conducted. Visitation be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to the hour of service in the funeral home.
