David Lee Samson, 71, of Taylorville, passed away at 11:27 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Taylorville Care Center.

David was born July 18, 1951, in Taylorville, the son of Lynn W. and Lena M. (Luttrell) Samson.  He worked for many years at Alma Plastics.  David enjoyed family gatherings, and he looked forward to every minute spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Forrest and Ronnie Samson.

David is survived by his daughter, Lesley M. Samson of Wiggins, MS; longtime companion, Kellie Underwood of Hewittville; siblings, Bobby Samson of Taylorville, Charles (wife, Tillie) Samson of Auburn, Darrell Samson of Virden, and Martha LaVoie of Salt Lake City, UT; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Memorial Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.  The Memorial Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating.
